Observation details
Displaced birds due to recent Hurricane/Tropical Storm Hilary that passed through last evening/this morning. Conditions now are calm and warm, 1-2 knots of wind 75+ degrees. Found earlier this morning by Sammy C. Small dark birds mostly resting on the water. Two seen briefly together. One flew eastward at one point. White rump wrapping around undersides was easily seen even as they rested on the water. Wingtips looked long vs the tail as they sat on the water. In flight white rump was extensive at times looking like the entire aft section of the lower body was white. Caramel colored wingbars on top. In flight the wings looked large and broad compared to small body of bird. To my eye it looked rather bat like in flight when it was flapping, although it did glide for a short duration a few times.
