Observation details
**rare - yellow-bellied Tyrannus with blackish squared tail contrasting sharply with the olive upperparts, small bill, and diffuse pale yellow below. COKI/TRKI complex eliminated by the tail coloration and bill size. CAKI ruled out by white edging on tail, and pale coloration to head and upper breast. Pp shape and pale gape indicate a HY bird. Seen in the area halfway up the road, just as the understory cleared to ferns and the forest opens to a cleared pine-oak scrubland. The bird was seen approx (46.7399936, -85.0851866). At this spot, there is a small road leading up a hill on the south side of Vermillion. The WEKI was perching on some low stumps at this intersection. It also returned many times to the long slanted branch (pictured here) which is on the small hill to the east of this side road
