Observation details
*Rare but regular migrant, especially in August. Both juveniles, studied well with very good scope views next to Least and Western Sandpipers. Most defining features were short, blunt bill not as decurved as Western or even Least, plus evenly scaled appearance without Least's browner cast or Western's rufous scapulars. All photo/video is of the first bird, which was closer. I panned back to the first one to verify it was still there after seeing another out further. To me, the SESA tended to look a bit more compact than WESA, feeding closer to the ground and looking less "tipped forward."
