Multiple birds calling; puppy @0:03
Observation details
A surprising fallout of 10-12 birds in the wood edges along both sides the trail for about 1/4 mile near mile 48.5. Brown Thrashers are sometimes a mile further along Mt. Division Trail West (near mile 49.5) but are not normally found here. They called from 7:40-7:50 or so, and went silent as dusk fell. All were giving the same smacking calls, and I tried pishing some out, but to no avail. I got several audio recordings during breaks in the highway traffic: the second one here has multiple birds going at the same time.
