Observation details
Having yet to encounter this species as a high school junior back in 1970, this was the species Mary Kilbourne mentioned to me that originally got me so excited about taking a trip from my Maryland home to the "Great" Dismal Swamp during Easter holiday (when I was only 16 years old). The birds I saw this morning did not disappoint. They reminded me of arboreal, golden versions of aggressive Tree Swallows the way they actively chased one another (and other Passerines) while maneuvering at high-speed through dense foliage from ground level up to about 10 meters above the ground.
