Media notes
Two successive cuts of Rufous-bellied Chachalacas that are sounding off in various directions. I’m pointed at one group, downslope, and others can be heard in the background. This is off the road down a trail near the little campamento. Background includes: Brown-crested Flycatcher, White-tipped Dove, Sulphur-bellied Flycatcher, White-winged Dove, Thick-billed Kingbird, & Rufous-backed Robin whistles. Recorded using a Fostex FR-2LE with a Sennheiser ME62 & Telinga Universal 22" parabola.
Observation details
A few alarm type calls 6:30am, main racket of "song" only from 7 a.m. for 75 minutes plus; at least six vocal territories in various directions; if just two per territory, then a dozen as a minimum, probably more;
