Observation details
Unexpected, seen as I was leaving, well south of the park. Soaring black bird reminiscent of a Turkey Vulture. White band on tail visible through binoculars. Wings very wide, tail also wide, short, with one prominent white band. Pics taken before bird disappeared. May have been heard earlier along creek west of restrooms (brief bird of prey cry, unlike Gray Hawk but not obvious to me at the time)
