Observation details
Saw them flying by the end of the dock immediately noted the black and white wing pattern and size. Walked out and saw them perched on a floating mat of vegetation. Heard them calling and got recording, got pics as well. Clearly Western with paler plumage and longer legs and bill, totally unmarked below. Pale shorebirds with gray legs and two toned gray bill, paler at base. Both appeared to be adults molting into non breeding plumage with some fresh totally pale non breeding feathers starting to replace the worn breeding feathers that have a little vermiculation/barring. New Sololá bird for Daniel you’re welcome baby. Appears to be the third state record with the first being a no-details report from 1/24/18 by David Barlow at Cerro de Oro?? which is likely BS and a well-documented one on 8/19/22 by Isaias Soliz.
