NOTES: General climate: WET; Cover density: THICK; THIS SONG APPEARS AS A BACKGROUND SOUND IN AN OTHERWISE UNDISTINGUISHED SECTION OF TAPE OF HIMATIONE SANGUINEA. IT IS UNIQUE IN MY EXPERIENCE. IT MAY BE A PECULIAR VARIANT OF THE SONG OF LOXOPS VIRENS--WHICH APPEARS LATER ON THE TAPE IN TYPICAL FORM. HOWEVER IT IS SIMILAR ENOUGH TO THE SONG OF HEMIGNATHUS WILSONI THAT IT MAY BE HEMIGNATHUS LUCIDUS.--PRATT H.D. Habitat: Montane Grassland.
