Type 2 comprised the bulk of both feeding flocks and all singing birds, between the two major flocks that were recorded 25 represents a reasonable estimate of the minimum 40 individuals present around the field site that morning and is the most expected call type at this site, particularly in these densities. Call type noted in the field and confirmed after the fact with recordings and spectrogram analysis. typical Pygmy Nuthatch-esque ringing calls huskier and deeper than most call types.
