[The recordist James Howell visually observed this gray fox while vocalizing. Fox stopped on a Forest Service road, vocalized, then departed. At the time Howell was a participant in the Library of Natural Sounds 1994 Sound Recording Course held at San Francisco State University's Sierra Nevada Field Campus. G Budney]. Habitat: Montane, Coniferous Forest.
