Observation details
Observed foraging at close range in thick peas as I was on a point count in a southerly direction in the middle of the windrow about 60 meters north from the south end, more specifically at 43.80136, -112.17027 Photos taken after the point count. About an hour or so later, some birders refound the bird, Darren Clark said it was about 200m north of the point mentioned above. I first observed the posterior half of the bird among the thick peas about 10 feet away from me, most obvious were the white outer tail feathers, olive green rump, yellow belly, and tail pumping behavior (from my understanding a typical behavior of PRAW). A few seconds later I saw the unique face pattern, yellow underparts with black streaks, olive crown, reddish mantle. The bird was in heavy prebasic molt so a bit ratty lookin.
