Observation details
While sitting on the bench, I heard a distant continuous shorebird type call from direction of Kingston. In my binoculars I quickly picked up a large tan colored shorebird with an obviously long de-curved bill circling decently high above Kingston Pt and knew it was a whimbrel. I had great views through the scope as the bird circled and began peeling off south. I grabbed my camera and picked up the bird further south flying away to grab bad record shots.
