NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 19. Bulk reel: 75 a) 6/VIII/65. 7:15 PM. Bird was heard singing nearby. After a couple whistled imitations it came close. Two songs recorded before rain halted further work. Quality: 1. Level: +5. b) 9/VIII/65. 7:20 PM. Same bird, brought in by playback of above two songs. Quality: 1. Level: +5. c) 10/VIII/65. 1:15 AM. Clear, moon. I returned to this spot @ 10:30 PM. Between then and ~ 1:00 AM I didn't hear this bird but then it sang some distance down the hill. Playback brought it close again. It was then collected and proved to be male. Quality: 1. Level: +5. Response to playback: Approach.
