Observation details

Moving to this checklist so location is correct. Bit observed during this time but photos are from later in the day. At ranch along river. Along river in wet riparian woods. All brown thrush. Roughly size and shape of an American Robin. Observed 4 times. Poor but identifiable photos. Uniformly tan or light brown overall. Slightly darker above and paler below. Wings, back, tail, breast, flanks and belly all roughly the same brown tone. The only similar species are ruddy nightingale thrush which is smaller and more richly colored. Rufous backed Robin is really not very similar due to bright rufous back and flanks. This species is a lower elevation gulf slope species and is rare in Mexico State overall but not unexpected in this location. This is at the edge of this species range, but there are other records along riparian corridors in this area. Observed on ground, in flight and high in a tree singing.
