NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 5. Bulk reel: 72. Weather: Moon with low thin cloud haze. There was a bird that had a regular daytime sleeping perch at this place. The perch was a relatively small branch ~ 25 m. high and the bird sat on it in rather owl fashion, different from the perching position normally depicted for potoos. I also recall a similar perching position of a bird in Rancho Grande (Variante Ocumare de la Costa) and perhaps N. grandis sits this way usually, rather than the "normal" way for potoos. These "bawl calls" are very likely given by it. (Nyctibius griseus also heard.) Quality: 2. Level: +10. After playbck of just the last "bawl", the bird flew over me, uttering "ooroo" calls, some of which recorded, then voice note re: this. Quality: 3. Level: +10.
