Observation details
On arrival an ultralight was being set up to fly and then towed on runway. 5 EAME were between the runway and the road. Observed a short flight of 4 EAME one adult and three immature within that section of field. Heard calls from the female with food in her mouth and 2 partial songs from the male when the.Adult male and 2 young of the three young flew to marsh. Female with food and 1 young remained in field between runway and road. Female made many short flights, vocalizing, carrying food. several shot flights to the immature bird and then away. many drop ins to other areas in that section. I did not see any other bird in the other areas she was dropping into. At one point she was chased by three redwings and she evaded them continuing her dropping in behavior with food in her mouth the entire time. Male and other young returned and the third young bird made a short flight to join them. Not as strong a flyer as the others from my observation, it was lower and shorter. Female fed one of the young. I did not see the older EAME immature birds today but I did not observe the entire field.
