Media notes
Probable RTHA feather and feeding evidence; ID not certain (see checklist notes).
Observation details
Including an adult, flying, *beyond property boundary*. Photos of 2 different immatures. On my return, I found an apparent raptor feeding site in reach 4. On top of a ca 1.5 m high wooden post, 2 m from the bank of the creek and approx 30 m WSW of the nest box the AMKE pair seem to be using, there were the entrails of an animal. They were still moist, but the surface was dry, and there were several flies present, which suggests to me that the kill was made earlier this morning. In searching the surroundings, I found a perhaps 4 or 5 cm broad, frayed feather on the ground. Based on the size of the feather and birds observed on site, I strongly suspect that the feather, and probably also the kill, was left by a RTHA.
