Observation details
I spotted this juvenile bird out on the river initially while I was on the northeast trail and it was way out in the grassy low water area by the island, then got a better look at it from Marble Street as it was perched up on an outcropping. It was smaller than a Great Egret, greenish legs and feet, thick bill, dull pale lores. Confirmed ID after review and feedback from Dave Wheeler, Mike Tetlow & Gregg Dashnau. Picture included.
