Media notes
Calls from resting PIGUs on the water at an active colony as American Crows begin to arrive on scene a bit farther down the beach. High pass filter used to reduce distant traffic noise. No shortening between intervals. Habitat: rocky tidal shoreline, sheer bluff with mixed forest above. All PIGUs recorded were in the water nearshore. Behavior: mostly resting in a loose flock, occasionally flying or chasing each other. Alert at crows as they approach. Weather: sunny, calm, relatively warm.
