Observation details
Initially saw and tentatively identified this bird as a Vermilion Flycatcher from a great distance. After taking a few photos, I started walking towards it, but I temporarily distracted by other birds and when I looked back I could not refind the flycatcher. I did not submit it at the time since I was not 100% confident in the ID, but looking back at my photos now there is no doubt. Female-type bird with pale gray throat and chest fading into salmon-colored belly. Wings (barely visible in photos) darker than the underparts. Small, dark bill. Even more unlikely Say's Phoebe eliminated by paler chest and more compact and round overall structure. Juvenile STFL eliminated by salmon belly and darker head. Additionally, date is too early for fledglings of any potentially similar species. Note that the poor quality of the photos washes out some color and adds some artifacts, like the tail appearing orange. The color on the belly, however, is not a photo artifact and was seen clearly in real life.
