NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 19. Bulk reel: 61 a) This bird had been singing further away and came closer after I whistled it in. However, I noticed no change in the voice. Quality: 2. Level: 0. b) With further whistling, the bird did alter slightly its voice, especially on subsequent whistlings and playback. Qualitiy: 1-2 to 1. Level: 0. Voice note re: experiments with playing back the songs of Otus atricapillus (and watsonii) from Peru and Venezuelaand of Glaucidium minutissimum. (Bird apparently not interested in any but its own song.). Response to playback: Approach.
