Media notes
An Olive-crowned Crescentchest—of the slow-song vocal group—sings in response to playback of its own song as it moves through grass and shrubbery in the drier, east section of the Siberia forest, 8340’ by my altimeter (which was reading 150m lower than the elevations on the road signs along Hwy 7). A second bird answers in the background, along with what sounds like a Bolivian Tapaculo starting up. Digitized from tape recording made with a Sony TCM5000, using a Sennheiser ME66 with a Mineroff K6 power module and foam windscreen. I suppressed 50-800Hz to reduce talking in background.
