NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 10. Bulk reel: 57. 203 tape. "Song," some time after playback. Quality: 2. Level: +3. This bird uses a fast repetition of the initial "notes" of the phrase. Quality: 1-2. 9/VII/68 - Cano La Urbana - clear, full moon. I was afield from ~ 9:30 AM to ~ 2:00 AM and this was the only owl heard and of it I heard ~ six individuals, all singing naturally. 10/VII/68 - ~ same comment, one collected (= Male #6686). (This was the only native owl species.).
