Observation details
Continuing individual; appears to be the same bird that spent the previous summer here. Looks to be an adult male, with a black head, neck, and breast region; bright white sides; a white back with extensive black vermiculation; and a black butt area. Perhaps the smallest duck present. The primaries on its left wing are very short, the same way it was when I visited here last summer. This is probably what's kept this bird at this location. Appeared in the small cove near the boat ramp. Remarkably tame, though it seemed to be a bit skittish, at least compared to some of the other domestic ducks.
