Son chant me surprend alors qu'il se met à vocaliser à quelques mètres à peine du chemin, dans le marais salé à l'aube, un « pssshhh-ts » instantanément reconnaissable. Impossible à voir d'où il chante dans la végétation, mais revu une minute plus tard avec deux Bruants chanteurs dans des arbustes. Petit bruant doré, à face dorée avec joue grise, tache brune derrière l'oeil et au-dessus de la moustache, calotte brune, poitrine et flancs dorés avec des stries grises diffuses, ventre blanc. Nicheur rare dans la région qui n'avait pas été observé ici depuis les années 1980. Matinée brumeuse idéale pour recenser les oiseaux de marais avec l'abscence de vent, mais quantité absolument pénible de moustiques.
