Observation details
Two birds flushed behind Glenn Davis campground Birdwatching Site #9, refound one (see pictures). As per HANZAB: "When surprised, freeze or fly off with loud wing-clap, then perch montionless on branch with back to observer, often with tail raised and usually watching over shoulder (Cryptic Pose). Cryptic Pose: Bird on nest rotates so that tail is turned towards intruder, head withdrawn and body tilted down; raises tail to display cryptic mottled undertail-coverts; usually maintains watch by peering round tail or over shoulder".
