Recordist's Note: "Mostly low calls of female, some distant calls of males. some feeding + preening sounds, water sounds" (WWHG) [This recording contains primarily the clucking, "Gogogog..." Calls given by the female (see p. 609 of Cramp et al. 1977. The birds of Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. Birds of the Western Palearctic. Vol. 1. Oxford University Press, Oxford; this call not really described in BNA account), but there are also numerous examples of the "cooing" calls of the male (e.g., 2:53, 2:57, 3:03, 3:05, 3:33-3:36, 4:00-4:05, 4:27. 4:34, 4:40, 4:44, 4:48, 4;50-4:52, 4:56-4:58, 5:00, 5:06-5:14, 5:24-5:26, 5:30-5:32, 5:35-5:36. 5:44, 5:49, 5:58-6:00, 6:30-6:32, 6:35, 8:29, 8:34-8:36, 8:53, 8:58, 9:01).
