Observation details
I counted 7 very small terns roosting on the cement block several hundred yards east of the yacht harbor. All appeared half the size of the juvenile Forster’s Terns that were roosting on the shell bar, foraging in the Bay, and would also rest on the concrete blocks for good size comparison. Bills looked yellow as opposed to orange when viewed with a scope. They also showed two black primaries when they occasionally moved in flight along the cement block. Photos are distant, but show size comparison and color patterns, even though they are not great shots. Too far with a heat shimmer for such a small bird.
