Observation details
2cy high over guns near weather station, when harassed by Common Buzzard, then headed SW inland. Identification based on rakish structure with relatively narrow wings, four distinct outer primary ’fingers’ and slender, longish tail, coupled with pale buffish body and underwing coverts, dark secondaries, apparent lack of distinct dark ‘frame’ to outer wing, and dark brownish ’boa’ around neck (couldn’t discern pale collar from underneath). A 2cy Pallid Harrier reported later this morning inland at Edgefield was surely the same bird, and apparently 1 of 3 found on E coast today. Record shots obtained
