Observation details
Starting at 10pm on the ridge between the "top" of Biscuit and Blacksnake with our prospects of Saw-whet becoming increasing unlikely with the full moon rising we decided to play a Flammulated Owl. We immediately heard a very distant Flam call back in response eventually moving close to the road where a second bird as responding to it. We eventually got a visual one of these birds. Continuing on the road maybe 1/3 mile towards Blacksnake we heard another (3rd) Flam who was calling without any play back and a (4th) bird responding we eventually got visuals on one of these birds also. Turning back towards Lewis Peak we began walking back and stopped back at the original spot we got the Flam and were able to get PHOTOS! In total there were two distinct apparent pairs on this section of the road. Additionally there was a likely 5th bird calling (just like 5 single notes) between the "top" and Lewis Peak. We also have a lot of audio that we will upload asap.
