Observation details
Recorded 5:53a , 6:09a; recorded 6:45a after RECR , many EVGR going across sky e. to w. after the RECR. Recorded 7:13a . More continue through time here. — — note: many RECR and EVGR type 1 recorded flying over ridge top here. — — FFAS : RECR notes: forest here is young and has been logged recently too at least selectively. I hammocked in an alder and a young Douglas fir. Almost all of the remaining conifers here are young Douglas fir. There are a few hemlock too, one that is larger is forming loads of green cones. The Douglas firs don’t have many cones bc so young, but the one I hammocked in has 3 dark brown open cones, and some other trees have green cones and also green cones turning brown. A couple of young spruce trees here with some cones, mostly green cones but some newly brown. Mostly it is dominantly a young Doug fir forest with green cones. Given how young these trees are, it’s actually a lot of cones on these trees for their small tree size, so maybe will be a good Doug fir crop this year? Some photos in iNat of this spot. Didn’t see any of the finches foraging or landing in these trees right here, just flying over this ridge top.
