NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 17. Bulk reel: 37 Weather: Fair. *Identification is by voice. At no time in the Rio Negro trip did I get to see this species, but also at no time did I hear the voice of M. ruficollis. Natural song (not from beginning) by bird just to north(?) of camp. This song mixes two-figure and three-figure phrases, more of former in beginning and of both in latter part. Also while there seems to be a tendency to "speed up", this is not carried through. Note - A tape was running wild during this time and although very faint it appears that this bird started with two-figure phrases but soon began mixing in the three-figure phrases. Quality: 2. Level: +5. 203 tape (rec. with std. equal).
