Observation details
Continuing bird on Eastern shoreline of Stony Bayou Pool #1. Originally spotted from main road and walked out on dike for a better view. American Flamingo wading and foraging in shallow waters for about 15 minutes until preened and tucked head in to rest. Remained observing the flamingo for a while until we walked back to the main road. The American Flamingo was surprisingly large but easily distinguished by bright pink plumage, posture, and very heavy hooked bill. Flamingo still present and resting as we drove away at 1 PM. Photo to be attached soon.
