NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 12. Bulk reel: 37 Note-See M. ruficollis Cut 23) for recording with both it and M. gilvicollis in same locality Two birds in dawn song (natural). One of them, the nearer, sings ~ normal dawn song but the other sings a song more like that of cuts 5b and 7b (i.e., somewhat like M. ruficollis). I believe this may be a territorial dispute; note that the near bird becomes silent, then shortly another bird (what was perhaps the near bird) also starts the "bother" song. Note that this voice is higher in pitch than the others.
