Observation details
Lifer! Saw a small bird swimming in the shallows of the main lagoon and immediately thought "this looks interesting". Got the bins on it and it was immediately obvious from both the colouring and the characteristic feeding by swimming in circles that it was a Red-necked phalarope. A female too. It then flew across the island to the northern bay where it afforded great views. What a beautiful bird. Absolutely thrilled with this one!
