NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 10. Bulk reel: 20 a) Normal 3-4 note song, given naturally. Quality: 2. Level: +10. b) After playback of the last two songs of a). The bird continues to sing the "4-note" type song and although it apparently was now facing in my direction, it remained high in the trees in just about same position and did not come close. c) This is a continuation after I moved closer, then some recorded at higher gain. Quality: 1. Level: +5. Playback of this song again failed to bring the bird in. However I then tried playing the "dawn song" from the field tape and the bird came in at once. Successive playbacks oo this always brought the bird flying excitedly in, remaining in fairly low vegetation. It was collected = juvenile female #5209. In the stomach were a number of reptilian scales. These were saved and perhaps can be identified. Response to playback: Approach.
