Beautiful Couch's/Tropical Kingbird, seen from wooden kiosk trail just south east of woodland trail the seen along beach road flycatching from dead pines, it also spent time in dense myrtle shrubs along intersection of beach rd and woodland trail road. Pale silver gray head wit darker stripe from bill to just past eye, thick shorter bill on the TRKI/COKI spectrum, on crown a pale yellow patch where the breeding color orange patch will be later, pale gray hood extended to back of neck, olive green yellow back, black wings fringed with greenish yellow while primaries fringed with more of a white pale yellow, lemon yellow belly extending to gray hood, long tail slightly forked near tip unlike WEKI or CAKI. Call heard when food was acquired and was a single kip note. We saw this bird fly-catch several monarchs and a meadow katydid sp.
