Observation details
I first heard and recorded a likely yellow-throated warbler on this date. Upon first hearing it, I thought its identity was possible. I then opened Merlin and recorded three phrases that Merlin identified as YTWA (recording included). The bird then became quiet for at least the next 20 minutes at which time I left the area. I did not feel, and was advised by others, that my single recording was enough to fully confirm this species. A group of us then returned on 6/25, were able to hear it sing again, and then viewed and photographed it, confirming the ID. See Jerry Pruett's pictures of the bird from 6/25 on eBird and a MOU RQD.
