New singing male seen at end of road west of maintenance building
Observation details
This morning we had 3 singing male Dickcissels, the bird with the aberrant song about 0.25 mile SE of the preserve office, next to Marsh Hawk Blvd; a bird with a typical song at the NW end of Marsh Hawk Blvd (a female was also in this area); and and another bird with an aberrant song (Merlin identified it as Blue Grosbeak) at the SW end of Barn Owl Lane (the first time we have had a bird at this site--we saw the bird well). Thus, we have had a total of 4 singing males at the preserve this year (there have been 2 birds with typical songs at the NW end of Marsh Hawk Blvd, although we had only one there today).
