Observation details
Previously reported birds: 2 adults on nest with 3 fledglings, as well as 2 other adults in cormorant nesting site between middle and south lakes. The nest was in the more eastern eucalyptus; there may have been a second nest present but I was not able to confirm this. This species was distinguished from double-crested cormorants by narrow-angled gape behind mouth, often with a white border, smaller size, and longer tail relative to body. Fledglings also had a narrow gape compared to DCCO fledglings as far as I could tell. Photos obtained of most of the birds.
