Observation details
conservative estimate count. Went for kayaking by entering through cave and circling into the lagoon, being the first ones in we got to see so many of them flying around in the caves, seeing them going into crevices in the cave ceiling, it was super cool and my first time seeing these swifts up close!! got some audio as we kayaked through the cave, only good photos are of ones that flew out since the lighting wasn't good in the cave. My first time being able to ID them, the previous day saw many same ones up in the mountains but wasn't sure about the species, Merlin thought they might have been pacific swift. In the photos it can be seen there is a narrower white rump, and also they are in limestone caves which fits their habitat description, and confirmed by audio. Very cool !
