Observation details
Singing from dense shrubbery in the creek just west of the parking area, which we accessed by walking a short distance down W. Ridge Rd and taking a dirt path over to the creek. The bird remained well hidden below us in the creek, but when a large, noisy group of ATV's drove by, the bird started singing and calling farther away. After the ATV noise subsided the bird apparently returned, because we saw it fly out from the tree in the creek and land out in the open on the lower branches of the bushes above the creek. We watched it briefly sing and took pictures before it returned to the little tree above the creek. Very skulky, does not stay out in the open for long. Most of the time the bird remained hidden while singing quite loudly. Warbler with yellow throat, chest, belly, and flanks, olive green wings, back, tail and nape, black cap, black cheek patch, yellow "spectacles", pink legs. Photos and recording attached.
