Observation details
Continuing bird found by James Mackenzie on Sunday and refound by Kelly Kline earlier today in the same field to the North West of Dove Creek Road opposite The Blooming Barn at (49.7229576, -125.0314659). Adult white swan with prominent yellow at base of bill, far more than Tundra, even Bewick’s subspecies. Vocalized once giving distinct call that sounded oddly similar to a Sandhill Crane, have recording will upload. Actively foraging alongside Tundra and Trumpeter during the whole hour I was there, and at one point charged and bit a Trumpeter in the neck before getting chased off, though only a short distance away and not taking flight. Photos / audio / video taken, will upload. What a cool bird!
