Observation details
Continuing bird. Seen immediately east of creek at 7:30am as we approached open area of trail just beyond mulberry tree. Was foraging on ground in grasses then perched in mesquite shrub, then foraged in the grasses again, and then flew up to a willow tree, and sang briefly, before flying to the east side of the trail into a small sycamore tree. At 7:45-7:47h bird was singing from west side of creek at base of willow behind small mulberry tree. At 7:52h I saw it on east side of creek foraging in baccharis near the big mulberry. Between 7:52-8:02h I noticed it picking at dead twigs, grasses, and vines. It found a worm and ate it then went to another shrub, dropped to the ground and picked a up piece of grass and proceeded to fly toward the creek with it. I watched it slowly make its way to the ground below some low herbaceous growth only to emerge without grass. POTENTIAL NEST SITE, PLEASE USE CAUTION AND LIMIT OFF TRAIL WANDERING TOWARD CREEK. Sang from west of creek at 8:09; 8:20-8:22 sang from willow west of creek up until 8:50 or so.
