Observation details

***Mega! Small, long-tailed warbler showing typical redstart behavior by fanning a white-edged tail while flitting around. Crimson underparts with a dark face and dark gray upperparts. Immediately noticed there was no white on the wings as there would have been in Painted Redstart. No markings on or near eyes. The tail had white edges that were less extensive than in a painted redstart. Joe got a poor but diagnostic photo of the undertail pattern, which shows less white than a painted would.
