Media notes
A distant Kirtland’s Warbler (#11) sings from the farthest point to which we walked—having turned left off a narrow dirt road to the left of the main road near the Kobs/Curtis Rd. junction. This was Kirtland’s #11 for the morning. Background includes: Kirtland’s Warbler #10 in the distance, along with Blue Jays. Recorded using a Fostex FR-2LE with a Sennheiser ME62 & Telinga Universal 22" parabola.
Observation details
RAR surveyed the stretch from where we parked to the junction of the Kobs and Curtis roads and beyond. I had a total of 11 different singing birds, several of which were close enough for recordings. They were in jack pines from ca. 8' to 10' tall, making them hard to see. But we finally got good looks at #2. A Grebe lifer!
