Observation details
Known location for MIKI and continuing from previous sightings. Pair is perched in dead tree west of nest in Sycamore Tree. Pale gray head and chest with darker gray mantle and even darker wings and tail. Dark eye patch, bright red eye. Small hooked bill with white patch above. Pair flew from tree separately, then seen in two trees near the nest. Both called intermittently while one ate its prey which looked to be a cliff swallow. Bird tore off pieces and ate for a long time, then flew to its partner and gave the meat. Audio and doc photo to be attached. Vocalization was eagle-like with descending high pitch chitter confirmed by Merlin sound ID. No evidence of fledglings heard or seen. Pair observed copulating after the second finished eating. Based on copulation, the first to eat was the male, who shared its meal with the female.
