Media notes
In order to pull out the vocalizations, which are faint, aggressive high and low pass filtering was used. These are sets of "Tew" and "Chup" notes as named by Pieplow. It sounds like multiple birds are present.
Observation details
Heard only. While at the overlook I heard through the headphones connected to the mic, chup notes that immediately reminded me of Mountain Bluebirds. Then I saw many Hermit Thrushes and, thinking that was what I heard, put it out of my mind, But now reviewing the recordings later - they were Mountain Bluebirds. It sounds like multiple birds. I never saw them.
