Observation details
I only saw one bird. It was along the winding creek that is on the right or east side of the Snake Road in area 2 . The bird has a thicker bill than that of a black-crowned night heron. It has black on the lower and upper halves of the face divided horizontally by a white area . It has red eyes. The bird has white breeding plumesm This is less than 100 yards south of the wooden bridge over the creek along Snake Road. When you drive along Snake Road, park with public bathroom number 39 to your left, or west. Look in the opposite direction, or east, for the bird as it feeds along the creek with reeds . Photos.
